Along the Royal Roads to Angkor(2)

Second day !

Get up early... the trip had begun...

The bus took us to Prasart Bantrisri which is north-eastern far away fro Siam Riam around 30 Kmtrs near
by Siam Riam river.This area name is Shivapura or Shiva's land.

We reached the gate,paid gate fee then entered,it took around 20 Kmtrs.alond the way to Bantaisri...
or Banteay Srei ( Cambodian language) ,there are so many old big trees and small villages along the road.
It was such a peaceful time liked we were stopping the world and went back to that old time....

We reached Bantaisri now...

Prasart Bantaisri or Bandoasrai means the castle for women ,Rajavarman IV delicated through Shiva since his time ( 968 AC) and finished in Rajavarman V (during 968-1011 AC),made of pink sandstone which is most beautiful of alls Prasat in Cambodia. This building is one part of his kingdom which is 300 meters northeast of Angkor Wat.You can see alls scene are completely covered in decorative and narrative carvings. Come with me entrance to the door of history....

You can see the Mahabharata is sculpted on the pediment over the doorway.
